Why does red fade in the sun quicker than any other colour?

  1. Have you seen a sunset?  Red is the last color to fade because it has the longest wavelength (violet is the first because it is the shortest).  When the sun is setting, the thin layer of the earth's atmosphere acts like a prism and spreads out the light into all the colors of the rainbow.

  3. its all to do with the break down of dye molecules....the sun produces a peak of radiation at the correct wavelength to break down these bonds.
