  1. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$...

usually when something doesnt make sense its because of the mighty dollar

we should be investing heavily in stem cell research but instead the Rx companies would rather not, they got control of things cause of $ and corrupt people

what do we do with all those aborted fetuses anyway? Garbage them? Why not put them to use, huh? doesnt make sense huh? $$$

  2. I would be entitled to suggest islam due to the fact that they dislike anything that prevents a foetus growing or the potential ending of a life. Seeing as the stem cells are retrieved from blastocysts (the first ball of cells) that would go on to multiply and eventually provide a child. However these stem cells can only be found in these instances. Most stem cells are found from fertility clinics where many eggs are fertilised and then are frozen. If the couple do not wish to use these anymore they can become stem cells

  3. because most stem cell research comes from a fetus that was aborted

  4. If stem cells come from embryos, as they originally did to be completely flexible, and your religion believes that humanity begins at conception (although your religion has no way of blessing the fetus until it is born and is baptized) then by taking an embryo, you are taking a life.

With further research, it now is possible to bypass the need for embryos for stem cells as sources of various kinds of stem cells are available - more widely than thought before.

  5. They don't come from aborted fetuses. The first stem cells were harvested from embryos from fertility clinics. Often during in vitro fertilization more eggs are fertilized than needed, so the most viable ones are implanted. The rest are discarded. Some religions considered destroying embryos for stem cells equivalent to abortion.

A lot of current techniques involve adult stem cells or cells from umbilical cord blood, thereby not requiring the destruction of a fetus. These are also clinically more useful because these techniques allow for stems cells with the same HLA types as the patient, because it is their own tissue.

Now to the above poster, religions that keep Kosher don't allow porcine valve transplants.

  6. Same as why Big car companies get rid off anyone that invents something that cars will run on other than Gasoline (Petrol)They say"It's not in the scripture's"
