Why does road kill on expressway always end up on right shoulder?

I don't think it just ends up there, I think thats as far as most of the poor little critters make it on an expressway!

it gets knocked over to the side by the turbulent force of the car or the car itself when cars pass by

I see wildlife all over the road surfaces.  A carcass in the lane of traffic will keep getting hit and nudged until it's out of the primary traffic areas, and 2 out of 3 of those areas are the outside edges of the road.

Why am I suddenly not hungry?
