Why does rock beat sissors in the game rock,paper,sissors?

when you smash a rock over a pair of sissors, it doesnt break. i tried it.;)

Rock always beats metal. Scissors are made out of metal and they are easily manipulated. Metal can bend to any shape and it can rust even melt. As oppose to rock, it is not that easy to break it. It's twice as hard to break or crack rock or cement.

Because if you think about it, Dropping a BIG rock on tiny scissors would bend or even  break them
