She's a friend of my little sisters on myspace. I was looking through my sisters friends and saw her. The thing I don't get is why she makes a face like this

  1. who cares its her doing it not you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and i dont think its right for u to post pics of someone else without them knowing!

  2. I think they do look a little odd and i would not post pictures of myself looking weird but Who Cares !

Let them make stupid faces, it's not a big deal. They make those faces probably to show their personalities.

You might not want to put other people's pictures up if they don't know about it because it sounds like you just took a random persons myspace picture and posted it here

  3. lmao get over it bro.

    who cares?

    everyone makes faces

  4. It's a popular thing to do. It's called the "Myspace Pose".

I've never done that before, I think it looks ridiculous & it's too cliche.

& be careful when you post pictures of people like that. I don't think she'd like that, even though her profile was probaly public.

  5. Many people do not use photos simply as portraiture. Instead of a simple panel of beauty shots they prefer to have photos that show them expressing life and its moods and emotions. Even pics that are garishly goofy/dorky say something about the person (different things to different people:  to you, they say "idiot" or "fool" while to someone else, perhaps the kind of boy she is interested in they say "spontaneous" or "fun-loving").

In the days of paper photos, the second kind of photo was usually the cameo style picture, someone or something caught in the act, supposedly unposed, the "Hey Janey!" photo. Nowadays, they're about 90% posed it seems, but they are no less interesting or honest in the message they carry.

The point is, pics are our entree into relationships over distance and deepening of relationships of near distance that lack of time to keep sharing might have left to wither. Like a party needs something other than crisply dressed, carefully posed participants, to wit:  people who move about, talk, laugh, grope each other, and exchange, so do on-line relationships. We cannot be real to each other without each other having images in our heads of what the other looks like in our various moods. We are built from birth on a visual cue to everything and it's just too hard to create, build, and maintain relationships and hold conversations without at least an imagined visual cue from time to time.

They are just using them for different purposes than you are figuring they are. Nothing more.

It's part of a larger process for all things whereby useful things find their uses broadened as a general enrichment of life as people continually find new ways to make use of them.

That probably covers something like 90% of it. The rest are just fools who haven't grown old enough to be called stupid adults. So we call them stupid kids. But don't worry, that 10%'ll get older — and drive on the same roads you will and vote for Obama someday.
