Why does she not except my old fastion interests?

Ok, so I am a 13 year old girl. I want to stop watching tv. My MOM doesn't want me to. She litterally makes me watch tv with her. The only time we have 'quality' time is when we watch tv. But it is a total waste of time. WHY won't she let me not watch tv, or downsize on my computer time. Next, she hates it when I clean the house. Yes. I try to clean and she yells at me. For example, I cleaned and organized the kitchen(I enjoy cleaning, ect...) one day. She comes home, looks at it and starts yelling at me for doing it. When I stopped cleaning she yelled at me for doing 'nothing'. She is a slob(no offense to her) and my dad works so I am the perfect person to clean. Why does she not like it. She also doesn't like that I enjoy reading, crochet, knitting, beading, embrodery, and scrapbooking. I am sorta old fashon.

Isn't this cleaning and no electronics thing what most moms want of there kids?

I think that all parents are different and all parents want different things for their children. One thing about you being into the old fashioned things that's great, its great that you enjoy those things but she may think that you are lacking on other responsibilities. And then sometimes you have just got to be yourself and over time she will accept it. As far as the quality time with the T.V. watching you may have to compromise a little. Watch some t.v. with her and then go do your thing. Or ask her instead of watching t.v. with you if she wants to play cards or a board game. I know I always loved playing games with my mom.
