Why does she treat me this way?

One of my friends is Japanese and invited me to sit with them at lunch. She said that one of her friends likes the same stuff as me so we would probably get along well. But I tried to talk to her alittle, but she brushed me off. And whenever I try to say "o i like that too!" she would ignore me and frown on me. I really want to be friends with her. What's the matter with me?

and others are really protective over their interests, so she might feel a little threatened

It's not what is the matter with you. It is what is the matter with the situation. Maybe she likes you, but seeing how you have in common is just something she doesn't like. Or maybe she is just shy and seeing someone who has that in common scares her. I know if I found a guy who I had a lot in common with that it would startle me a little because I always think no one is that similar to me. Next time just ask her " is there something bothering you about me? You always seem to just ignore when I say something we have in common."  you never know what it could be stopping a girl. nothing if she doesnt want to talk you should just ignore her maybe she thinks ur trying to take her friends off her you need to show her ur not like that try and get ur friend to talk to her its happened 2 me b4 just give it time

There is nothing wrong with you. She is the one with the problem. If she doesn't want to talk to you then forget about her. Dont waste your time, you will find someone who is worthy of you. There are tons of beautiful girls out there. But if you really do like her and want to be friends with her, then do something that would get her attention. Compliment her on her looks and skills. Try to be alone with her, like have a one on one chat you know. And even after that she doesn't want to be your friend, then i suggest forget her.
