I put a bar of soap in the shower and every time i look at the soap it has little cracks leading from the middle of it to the outside. It looks really wierd. Does anyone have a reasonable explanation for this?

  1. because it can

  2. Depends on how your water is where you live. If it is hard water, it will dry the soap or effect it chemically causing the cracks. If the soap simply drys out it will crack as well. Particualarly antibacterial soap such as Dial, or Irish Spring. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. You could try Dove or Oil of Olay.
