  1. People talk about rap a lot, but I really think its because they have nowhere else to turn. I am not a person who listens to explicit lyrics yet there used to be rap that I really liked. And it didn't influence me at all. It depends on the person. Its the same thing with society and peer pressure...if your a strong or wise person you don't listen, you don't follow, you dont buy into it.

if you weak, are dying to fit in by following...you will fall into a character a lot of people dont like. Im not saying that all rap...or any music is all positive and that the profanity couldn't be toned down...because it could...however if you dont want to do something... you seriously  wont, no matter what anyone tells you.

  2. They like to play the blame game. It's the parents and schools that determine how a child will turn out. If entertainment is your influence then you have a problem at your home. If you can't listen to a song or watch a violent movie etc without going out and doing it then it's a problem. People with good backgrounds can separate fantasy and entertainment from reality.

  3. Because its easier to blame crime and other problems on rap instead of looking at the whole socioeconomic picture.

For example I won't be in organized crime because I saw the Godfather or American Gangster and I won't become a thief because I saw Oceans Eleven. Why should this be any different for rap?

  4. People look for something to blame, when the fault is in their own parenting. Or lack of. Rap is a common target beacuse the Mcs usually bring up things like violence, crime and whatnot.
