In my opinion, people are taught to lie, they think it is a sign of respect, But I just don't understand- When someone Gets a horrible hair cut or something, and asks something like "is my hair okay?" question, what do you say?

usually it's "You look great" even though it is a direct lie...You are backstabbing people in a way that society deems perfect manners..

Why do people say it's not okay to lie, then you turn around and lie to someone with questions like these?

Why not be blunt about everything and be honest?

  1. I agree with you on your points. If anyone makes a dishonest statement, it's basically a lie. I think people think they are trying to be nice or polite when in reality, they're being fake. They will tell a person to their face their hair looks great but behind the person's back they will say what they really think. Also, some people want to be lied to. They really can't handle the truth and want everything sugarcoated. They want to be told what they want to hear (false confirmation). Hate to sound like a cliche' but "The truth hurts". People should be blunt and honest. I'm sure people ask questions because they are insecure at the time and really need an honest answer.

  2. because the world is a f***ed up place

  3. Yeah I hate lying...my mom makes me lie sometimes and I hate it.

  4. I think that it is important to lie in certain situations.  Like if one of my really good friends asked me if she looked fat in a dress, I am not going to say "d**n, you look like a cow"  because if I were to tell her the truth, then I would really hurt her and I dont want to do that.  So telling the truth is not always the best option.
