Why does someone call and not answer?

I'm receiving private phone calls and its starting to freak me out.They call in the morning and in the middle of the night.

Call the phone company  and have a privacy block put on your phone.

This is a common telemarketing scheme. They use computers to calls all kinds of phone #s. When some answer the computer logs the time you are home to answer. The computer will call about the same time everyday to see if you are home at that time. Once they get enough data of when you are home a sells person will call you.
