Why does someones head itch when they are deep in thought?

Is the 'itch' center next to the 'deep thought' center?

Perhaps it's an attempt to jog thought along and the habit has been passed on.

Holding your chin is another one. My dad puts his hands on his backside when he's thinking. Perhaps his 'thought centre' resides there.

That is an unusual question. I do not believe that the persons head itches because they are in " Deep Thought". I think the person may just trying to Stimulate thought by an external means, such as Scratching or massaging their head as a Physical Stimulus. My head does not " Itch" when I am in deep thought. However, I have had headaches that are a direct result of thinking.
