Why does taking my computer plug out of the mains cause problems with my internet connection when I next go on

If I leave the computer plugged in all the time, althought turned off, I have no such problem when I turn the computer on again

  1. Most likely due to DHCP (dynamic IP address assignment).  

    Open a command window by clicking "start" then "run" and typing "cmd" and enter in the run line.  In the window that pops up type "ipconfig /release" and enter then "ipconfig /renew" and enter.

    Don't type the quotes obviously.  Good luck.
