Why does tap water taste so disgusting?

I don't think all tap water taste the same. Water quality varies from place to place. Some places have 'dirty' water so they have to add too much fluorine, Some have hard water sources.

It's true Scotland has great water, you can't tell the difference between tap water and mineral water.

It tastes like s**+'t here where live, though. Somewhat similar to the smell of dead fish. But I still don't buy mineral water. Got tired of carrying the bottles.

Your tap water purity level depends on where you live. Usually big cities have great water. But if you live in a suburb or the edge of town it might not be as filtered. Try a purifier that connects to your faucet. A good one i use at home is a triple filter PUR i got from wal-mart for 25 bucks. Replacing the filter is easy and you don't have to do it often

I am also from UK and don't think it don't make me feel sick! Like people said get a filter or boil the water leave it to cool and drink it! It will taste mroe purer then!

Tap water tastes good in Chicago.  Buy a filter if you have bad water where you live.
