  1. i dont know...it just is. If it wasnt L then it would be G and you would asking the same question as to why G was first.

  2. Once upon a time all the letters were mixed up. Then one day a g*y man tried to restore order by using GLBT, but was unsuccessful. He asked his L*****n best friend to be the 'muscle' of the plan, and she agreed, provided the L goes first. Now we have LGBT... the B & T were sleeping in, so they went last.

    Any more questions?

  3. I presumed that it was because lesbians ARE g*y so the other way round it would make less sense.  It means like lesbians and other g*y people.

Then B the T were just added after.  It was just LGB when I was a teen.

  4. Because lesbians are just the best. ^_^

    Hehehe, joking.

Well... alphabetically... BGLT... just doesn't flow right. Sounds like a sammich. XD

    GLBT sounds alright though.

Otherwise, I have no idea who first arranged them as so.

  5. Others have answered with "ladies first" in the past.

I'm used to LGBT. It's just personal preference. Do whatever you like.

  6. It has a 'ring' to it

    it's easier to say :)

  7. Its an acknowledgement of society being patriarchal; women usually come second, so in this instance, they are put first.

So not really about what they have done to deserve to be put first (this argument could be put forth for anyone listed first), but rather an act of support for redressing sexism.

  8. cuz it sounds better!

  9. because women rule!!!
