Why does the Argentinean police wants only the ID to issue a police certicicate?

I need a police certificate for my k1 visa but I lost the ID...they told me it will take from 8 months to 1 year to get a new one because I live abroad. Why cant they just use my birth certificate? (my ID number appears there!) why cant they take the cedula or passport WHY!!!!!! they are making me wait a year for a certificate that usually takes 2 weeks to get from the policia federal? b******s!

  1. They probably do know their fathers and also the applicable law regarding what they are permitted to accept before issuing their Certificates.
