  1. What is your proof that they oppose women's right and equal pay?

  2. The christian right would prefer to have women punished economically for not staying at home

  3. That's such c**p, really. I've been protesting for women's rights since the Sixties. And I'm a Christian. Where do you get your information?

  4. Huh, where did you get that from? Everyone is equal in the eyes of God, so men and women should be payed the same for equal work.

  5. I don't oppose equal pay for equal work. Most Christians wouldn't, base don their fundamental values and beliefs. I don't know what you're talking about.

  6. Because the bible is full of sexual inequality, and according to Christianity women are below men in every way.  What a great thing to teach children.

  7. It's not about equal pay, it's about Women not having authority over a Man.

  8. The Xtian right are not the only

    ones who oppose radical feminism.

The "concept" you reiterate is the

one that was expoused by Betty Friedan.

What she said was a phrase that few

with any common sense of equity and/or

    fair play could disagree with.

What she meant was something else again.

What she meant was that a femali clerk/typist

should be paid as much as a male electrician

who handles anywhere from 120 to 400+ volts

of lethal energy on a daily basis.

Friedan (and others) were more interested in

furthering a political agenda rather than

dealing with issues killing women...such as

    breast cancer.

  9. Because christianity is based on patriarchal doctrine. A woman's place in the kitchen or in the bedroom to make christian babies.

  10. Where did you get that idea?  That is totally wrong.

  11. Haven't you read the Bible?  Women are supposed to submit to men, blah blah blah.  And don't even think about demanding equal rights for those nasty g*y people.....

  12. Pokie,

I do not know where you get your ideas from but they are not this Christian's ideas at all!  Have a great weekend.

    Thanks,

    .

  13. Because the bible does not promote sexual equality

  14. Because they're Christian.

  15. Those are not true statements.

  16. If you are referring to the passage in the Bible where some farmer goes and gets help and tells the workers that he will pay them a certain amount and then later in the day he asks some other workers later in the day to help but pays them the same, it's not saying that workers should get paid the same amount, even after some work a lot less. It's saying that those who get saved, even much later in their life, are still going to Heaven

  17. I haven't the faintest idea what you're talking about.

  18. I think you are wrong.  We don't oppose women's rights and most Christian women must work to feed the family these days.  How old are you?

I personally am opposed to the Women's liberation movement.  They are nothing but a political machine for the democratic party.

  19. Looks like a lot of people are misrepresenting Jesus in answering this question. Jesus was the world’s first feminist! Feminism is a simple concept that has been perverted over the years. All that true feminists desire is equality for both genders in all aspects of life. It is an indisputably Biblical idea, as evidenced by the number of times that Jesus is quoted as addressing matters of social justice and his unconventional behavior.

After all, Jesus spoke directly to women and children, recognizing their inherent worth and validating their importance to the social structure of the time. In those days, women and children were chattel (property) and his conduct not only caught the attention of the leaders of the day, but eventually culminated in his death. Women dishonor him when they deny and misrepresent his teaching on the subject. The Bible directs men to love their wives in the same way that Jesus loves his church, i.e., his followers. That is a radical directive, demonstrating that women are to be elevated to the same level of importance as Christ’s church.

"No one abuses his own body, does he? No, he feeds and pampers it. That’s how Christ treats us, the church, since we are part of his body. And this is why a man leaves father and mother and cherishes his wife. No longer two, they become “one flesh.” This is a huge mystery, and I don’t pretend to understand it all. What is clearest to me is the way Christ treats the church. And this provides a good picture of how each husband is to treat his wife, loving himself in loving her, and how each wife is to honor her husband."

    Ephesians 5:33

That passage is actually a statement about the inherent worth of each and every human being, commanding that all be afforded dignity, respect, and equal opportunities! No person is ever again to be relegated to the societal role women and children occupied in Jesus’ time.

  20. Excuse me? You're gonna have to clarify that one, partner. I am not "right" or "left", being totally apolitical, but I am a Christian, and this is unheard of to me. Believe me, I'm all in favor of increasing my paycheck!

  21. Strange you would say that. I have no problem with equal pay for equal work.

  22. never heard that one .I was always taught that a man is head of the household ... but now days you have men that can't even support themselves and have to live with ppl or their kidds or parents ...... so many women take the reign of the household or both would sink

  23. Because God is sexist

  24. Eh?  I never got that memo.  Oh, you mean we are against mothers killing their unborn children.  And we think that affirmative action is unneeded.
