I totally oppose Turkey because it is not in Europe. I despise EU leaders for trying to get Turkey in anway. Turkey must be kept out (and they must stop the occupation of Kurdistan).

  1. Turkey is in Asia and why will it join the European Union.  There is conflict of interest particularly its culture, religion and geographical location.

  2. Because the politicians see another way to s***w some more benefits for themselves to the detriment of the rest of us

  3. Government does not listen to the people

  4. Oil pipeline.  Look at how and where Europe gets most of it's oil and gas.

  5. I am unconvinced that Turkey's inclusion is necessary for the EU. Turkey is a country with marked social and religious differences to "existing" Europe. A "diplomatic bridge" between the EU and the Middle East is a nonsense. Nobody can act as a bridge between the two as long as the United States wields considerable influence over Israel. The EU is still finding its way with 25 member states. Let that process continue before introducing another country which will no doubt have demands of its own.

Turkey does not belong in Europe. People may talk of an economic union and in this sense there is no problem, but today's EU is much bigger than that. It is a cultural union as well, and Turkey does not share a European or Christian culture. These are the facts. Can you imagine a Europe, bordering Syria and Iraq?

  6. There are two factors to weigh in this issue:

    a) USA stands behind Turkey.

    b) What would the exclusion of Turkey bring to Europe in respect of Turkey joining some other sphere instead - would it bring more damage or bennefit to European integrations?

"The peoples of Europe" are not professional politicians.

Your best argument for Turkey not to be in Europe sounds geographical rather than its being the agressive external and internal policies. The geographical possition of Turkey is irrelevant, looking at Israel which has more credit for Europe, or wouldn't you want Tunnis in EU too, for example. I personally dont like Turkey's external policy toward the Balkan issue and their constant provocation of Greece around the Cyprus issue, keeping it submitted in the triangle with USA putting oil on fire just to keep it going tense for their own regional gameplay based on their cultural and moral values (@$#$$%). Furthermore, just the mentioning of USA makes me go against not only Turkey but against all its poltroon countries, which would practically mean almost all Europe. In that sense, what better is Vatican, Germany, Croatia, England, etc. than Turkey?

  7. Haven't you go it so far, that Uncle Sam is really behind it and presses the EU governments for the inclusion of Turkey in the EU.

70 million people is a big market for the multinational businesses to go astray . On top, they will have better control of the region, which  for the immediate future, is the primary if not the sole producer of oil. So they need their beloved ally in, regardless of what some politicians say, or the citizens of the EU countries want.

MONEY MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND.

  8. Oil & human traffic.

European women sell for nearly 3x as much in the middle east. Espescially those with blonde hair and blue eyes. Without turkey open for that traffic, longer more expensive routes must be taken.
