  1.   It could have had more, mars has two,I guess it's just the luck of the draw.

  2. The Moon that we know of today was a result of a collision between our planet and another body. The dust and debris was caught in our gravity and eventually formed the moon.

We do have 2 moons as mentioned earlier and who knows with more of us looking skywards maybe we'll find more!

  3. the stupidity of mankind astounds me.

  4. the only reason we have a moon is because a perfect size chunk of rock got stuck in our orbit. BTW, we actually have 2 moons! we got it a couple years ago and it looks like a star, on clear nights look a little north of Mars to find a bright star.

  5. see earth will only have one moon and the astronomer dint find it why and all

  6. Earth is the only rocky planet with a "real" sized moon. Mars' moons are like large chunks of rock!

  7. because, THE GOD want only one moon for the Earth

  8. Earth has two moons; the first one we all know called 'the moon' the second is 'Cruithne' a 3 mile lump of rock that takes 770 years to cycle its orbit.

  9. Other planets do not have any moons. Your question is similar to picking a number between 1 and 100 and asking why that one. There is no 'reason' other than 'just because that's how it happened'.
