Why does the Goddess Kali not seem to like witches?

I was watching Taboo and in Nepal there is a Healer Woman who becomes possessed by the Goddess Kali and breaks the spells that evil witches put on Innocent people. The Healer said that the Goddess Kali destroys witches for the evil they do.

Are these just the Bad witches, or does Kali not like any witches?

Don't many Wiccans worship Kali? :) How does that work?

  1. It's all in the translation... Of course, in Napal, they're not using the English word Witch, but rather a word that some people have chosen to translate as "Witch."

  2. Maata Kaali would never stand for the evil and misuse of Tantra. Tanrics or the witches/wizards are a cult that worship mother Kaali or the feminine principle of God/creation for God union. They are devotees of Maata Kaali and loved by her.Their occult practices are confidential and not to be devalued. Some people misuse the great path and science of Tantra by using it for ego purposes and harming others. They are not real Tantrics. They are misusing the energies/ power of nature and divine Tantra's occult secrets.Maata Kaali would never approve of this and such people have to pay off for their evil karma

Maybe to prevent such malpractices and save the innocent Maata Kali is doing this leela

  3. Wicca comes out of a European tradition that has

been called witchcraft, and sometimes I wish they

didn't call themseves witches.... it can have some

negative implications. Anyway, the witches referred

to on the show you saw are not the typical Wiccans

we have here in the USA. Kali, as a Mother Goddess

is simply opposed to people who do evil, by whatever

    names they are called.

  4. The word "witch" most commonly denotes someone who promotes evil.  The idea of a "good witch" is very modern and to many people an oxymoron....by traditional definition witches are not good and people who work good magic are therefore not witches.

In the context you give, I'm presuming that's the understandind of the word as used here.

There are Wiccans who worship Kali.  Wiccans are not necessarily witches of any definition, and at least 99% of them are not witches in the traditional definition.

I've generally heard it described that she's a "kick-butt" goddess to work with, and is not someone you embrace unless you're willing to radically transform your life under her guidance.
