Question:

Why does the McCain camp say that it is "ridiculous" to link McCain to Bush?

McCain's advisers insist that John McCain disagrees with many of the presidents policies. In fact, they go so far as to claim that the idea that McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time is "ridiculous".

Did they forget to tell this to John McCain?

  1. because they are 2 different people.  Now tell me how you disconnect Wright and Obama?  Also, how to seperate Michelle from her black panther involvement

  2. McCain is barely a republican. He's only acting like a republican right now, but he's not as liberal as the other guy.

  3. They say that because of Bush's approval ratings not due to any fact.  They don't want their candidate associated with the worst president the US has ever had.

If anything the choice of Palin as veep just confirms that McCain would be more of the same.  Palin for all intents and purposes is = to Cheney as far as politicl views go, scary thing is that she has a better chance of actually being president.

  4. Because by now even Republican pollsters have realised that the Bush "brand" is electoral poison.

And let's just hope that America's most powerful trailer trash - Sarah Palin - can have the same effect on the voters.

It will be harder to disassociate himself from his running mate now, won't it?

  5. McCain doesn't want the majority of the people not to like him. Since the majority of the people don't like Bush he doesn't wat to be linked to him

  6. That's an easy question. So many people are frustrated with Bush right now, all parties. So McCain's campaign has to try and show that though McCain is a Republican, Bush's mistakes will not be repaeted by choosing another Republican to run the country.

  7. Republicans have had a difficult time accepting John McCain for the simple fact that he DIDN'T back the President as much as we thought he should.  The idea that he voted with Bush 90% of the time IS ridiculous, because McCain was a member of Congress, and Bush is not, hence Bush wasn't allowed to vote on Congressional bills.  A better way of looking at it is that McCain did not vote the party line as often as the President would have liked, but Obama voted the party line 100% of the time (on the few times that he voted, instead of merely answering "present").  Obama has the most liberal voting record of anyone in Congress.  We do not need the left wing radical running our country.  You think we have gridlock now; just see what happens if someone this radical manages to get into the Oval Office.

  8. McCain is a liberal compared to most Repubicans. He sides with Democrats on many issues and has walked across the aisle to make laws with Democrats.

To me, he is too liberal.

An unbiased calculation of his Congressional voting records:

    http://www.govtrack.us/data/us/109/repst...

  9. I still haven't figured out where Pres. Bush voted for them to have been together while voting.

  10. It is ridiculous to link one man to another. No matter who the Republicans nominated, the Democrats would label them as another Bush. It's all political.

  11. John mccain is a old r****d. he doenst even remember how he votes. in congres  and bush is in idiot. they are both stupid. so that is why they are alike

  12. This because The Mccaininites think that every US citizen is as stupid as the republican sitting next to them.

  13. Mccain is almost like bushes dad or something.  It will be like Bushes third term if we elect him  Do we want 4 more years of this mess called Bush?

  14. And Obama voted along party lines with Pelosi and Reid 97% of the time when he bothered to vote. The president actually has a higher approval rating than the Democratic led congress that is hovering around 17%!

  15. Because they are trying with all their might (unsuccessfully) to sweep Bush under the rug.

    I CAN'T WAIT FOR NOVEMBER!!!

    Obama/Biden '08!

  16. McCain IS a liberal compared to GB.

Did you know that during the last year (the year Mac voted like that) nearly everything that Bush put through was non controversial. It was all logistical stuff, nothing major like going to war or anything...

    Get a life.

    McCain/Palin '08

  17. They are saying that as a response to conservative right wing pundits calling to institutionalize McCain for picking Sarah Palin.

  18. Yes McCain has voted Actually 95% of the time with Bush, but most of these bills and policies where actually introduced by the Republican Party along side with President Bush "Not Actually by Bush him Self Just in name Sake"..

So it's more of a political spin because you could say the same of Obama has voted a 100% with party lines when he was in the Senate?

There's more to these facts also McCain has actually voted against his party lines then most Congressmen and Senators.

  19. Do you also know CONGRESS(inc. Biden and Obama) vote with BUSH 90 percent of the time... It has ALWAYS been that way, since forever in Congress. But of course, the loons don't reveal that fact. Most of the decisions in Congress are overwhelming passed by more than 90 percent. So put down the kool aid and don't believe everything the radical idiot Left tells you.

  20. Because Republican logic is twisted and they have no other answer to defend their almighty king other than lie for him.

  21. Still trying to prove that McCain is own man and of course not the case he still uses BUSH policies

    WAKE UP...........

  22. You then can link Obama to Jimmy Carter, because they agree on 90% or more on the issues. McCain is a Republican, and we tend to agree on much. That doesn't mean we're all like Bush. That's just silly and not intellectually vapid.

  23. 100% link between Obama and Carter....why else would they throw a man that was there before Carter on Obama's ticket? talk about change or is it same old same old? Or, is Biden a safety net in case the experiment fails?

  24. Prove to me that he voted with Bush 90% of the time.  I see no cited sources whenever someone brings up that "fact".  How long have you followed McCain's career?  He is known for disagreeing with his party and even considered joining the dems:

    http://www.mydd.com/story/2007/4/3/11936...

He is more liberal than many democrats.  He isn't afraid to tell Bush what's what.  The liberal sect of the media only highlights the times he agrees with Bush.

  25. They told him....then he forgot.....

  26. Bush is dead weight to the party.  Nobody wants to be associated with him.  Is it any wonder that Bush isn't speaking live at the convention.  They say it is cause of the Hurricane, but it did much less damage then anyone thought it would.

  27. Dunno why they would do that...when it is true!! http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/is...

  28. They already feel guilty enough.

    Just vote Obama!! =D

  29. You will make no sense of what the republicans say as opposed to what they do.

They know that Bush is not popular with anyone but their own diehard Rushies... but they also can't admit his or their mistakes. So they are caught, as you might say, between Iraq and a hard place.

To be a good republican you can never criticize the little dictator Bush... even if deep down inside you know he was a rotten president.

McCain is in a doubly hard place, because one suspects that the only way he is going to win is to get Bush to stage a military surprise in October... so he's clinging to the bloody shirtails of the man even as he claims he's not.

And there will be an october surprise, and if McCain becomes president he knows he will be taking orders from Bush/Cheney from their bunker

in Bethesda... The bunker is under the VP's house, so whoever is made VP will have that right under their ffet: the real government that won't go away because of a mere election.
