Um, to get prepared for the regular season games, and to find out who would be a better starter at times.

So players can get hurt before the regular season starts.  I don't mind the preseason, but they play too many games before the regular season starts.

Why does any sport have a pre-season? It's to give players chances to make the team, rookie's get used to the playbook, same goes for free agents.  I'd give this question an A+ for retardedness..

Well Every Sport has a preseason.

It's a way to "pratice" but in a real game.

So they can cut their rosters and figure out who sucks and who doesn't. It helps players get used to playing. They want to scrap the rust off.
