Ironic. The Orlando Sentinel has no problem rushing to print with stories on other businesses and companies that are having layoffs. Yet it wants to sweep its own newsroom layoffs under the carpet. As if losing 20 percent of its news staff this month alone wouldn't be of interest to the advertisers. Not to mention the politicians who will be glad to know there are a few less watchdogs breathing down their backs. Why no story, Sentinel? Too bad former Sentinel news staffers started blogging about it and blew the whistle: http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003829312 http://eyeonthesentinel.blogspot.com/2008/07/orlando-sentinel-doesnt-own-news.html http://amazingshrinkingsentinel.blogspot.com/
