I had an issue that i needed some information about contacting someone in saudi arabia.. instead of answering my letter or returning several phone calls. The saudis hired a group of people to spy on me. during this time something serious occured i wont say here.. but to this date, I have never been able to directly speak to the properly authorized embassy personnel.

Why is it allowed in the USA that an embassy can spy on a US citizen who contacts the embassy for information?

  1. You should be careful, it sounds like your playing with fire (or worse!)  The Bush family has very close ties with the Saudi royal family and you have obviously triggered a warning sign or two. The Saudis can do what ever they want here - don't underestimate what could possibly happen to you.

  2. Surveillance or other intelligence gathering committed in the US by a foreign government is a federal offense; the FBI has jurisdiction.

  3. The international situation has become so unstable (and even more so with Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia) that institutionalized paranoia abounds. Even an innocent enquiry may be considered "suspicious" by some of these people when dealing with foreigners.

Do you believe American embassies abroad are any different? We can be just as paranoid as anyone else.
