Why are they borrowing from the royalty funds normally paid to residents in order to balance the state's budget?

  1. Most likely because they are not tapping the oil, holding huge reserves and stealing  from the state. Starting with Stevens and ending with Palin.

  3. What it means is that Alaska has some severe financial problems. As mayor, Palin also left her tiny town in crippling debt...the first in their history. No wonder she's a Republican

  4. there not! they have a cash reserve of 28 billion in revenue.the money you are talking about is to get in the new gas line on the north slope.
