They blew the lead against the white sox and lost. I'm so mad and they lost the game. I want them to win 60 straight games starting from July 25th until October I guess. That would be awesome. What changes do we need to make are team better. I want Texas to be back in Playoffs and first place too. badly.

  1. they have good hitting but bad pitching

  2. The Texas Rangers have a powerful offense and score lots of runs.  The thing that you want to happen is before the trading deadline pick up an ace pitcher that the rangers can rely on for the rest of the season.  If they can do that the rangers will be fine because of there offense.

  3. 1 word.

    PITCHING

I watched the whole game too.

Eddie Guardado is usually the best pitcher we have but he had a bad day.

We could've won but pitching lost us a game.

  4. actually, compared to most recent years, they do not suck at all. they are having a very decent year, and surpassing most realiststic expectations.

On a side note, I also would like to see them back in the playoffs, but they are still at least a year away

  5. Welcome to my world. I've rode it out my whole life. Also...I don't think they suck. They have several guys in major categories. Ian Kinsler leads in batting and Josh Hamilton is a monster. Just a matter of an over worked bullpen and S****y starting pitchers. Same old story. Same old 3rd or 4th place finish.

  6. They have one of the best offenses in the game right now, led by Josh Hamilton, but their pitching frankly sucks. The only one who is good, more or less consistent, is Vicente Padilla, but  that's about it my friend.

  7. short answer: they don't.....they were picked to finish last and here they are fighting the A's for second place--i'd say they were/are playing much better than expectations. Now, if you want a REAL definition of a team that sucks, just look at who is deep in the AL west cellar--seattle sucks so bad the vaccuum cleaner sales have fallen to record lows...the space needle is now only twenty seven feet tall...mt. rainier is now a valley...stop me when you get my drift....

  8. They don't suck, at least they over .500. But they are a notch below the elite. The reason is PITCHING. I am a sox fan and was glad they had that pitcher pitching, bacause he blew a couple leads this season. In the off-season if they get a good pitcher and keep there offense, they be a play-off contender.

  9. They are actually doing much better than anyone expected.Josh Hamilton and Milton Bradley are having career years.  They are just lean on pitching like everyone else.

  10. The rangers havent really been a good team since the mid 90's or so, i think they were alot better then

  11. The Rangers always suck.

  12. You are wrong, they lost to the Chicago Carlos Quentins.  From now on, the White Sox shall be referred to as, the Chicago Carlos Quentins.

And you guys need pitching and defense obviously.  I mean you have the most Errors I believe and the most runs against.

  13. to keep it very simple.....loads of offense but no pitching

  14. As you've probably noticed....they need pitching  (and bad)

  15. Here is every pitcher that has started a game this for the Rangers:

Kevin Millwood - 6-6, 5.23 ERA, 19 starts. Has been hurt and limited to 19 starts.

Vicente Padilla - 11-5, 4.41 ERA, 19 starts. Also been hurt, but has been their ace this year.

Scott Feldman - 4-3, 4.80 ERA, 15 starts. Ffirst-year starter, former submarine/sidearm specialist from the bullpen.  Shows some pontential though.  They're trying to avoid overusing him.

Kason Gabbard - 2-3, 4.82 ERA,12 starts. Has been hurt too.

Sidney Ponson - 4-1, 3.88 ERA, 9 starts. Now plays for NYY.

Luis Mendoza - 2-4, 7.16 ERA,  7 starts. Much better bullpen guy than starter.  Only has one "good" pitch.

Jason Jennings - 0-5, 8.56 ERA, 5 starts.  Scraping the bottom of the barrel here.

Eric Hurley - 1-1, 3.57 ERA,  4 starts.  Young guy, might be good.

    Doug Mathis - 2-1, 6.85 ERA, 4 starts.  How is he 2-1?

Matt Harrison - 1-1, 9.20 ERA, 3 starts.  One good start, two horrendous ones.  22 years old though.

Warner Madrigal - 0-1, 7.88 ERA.  Been pitching professionally for three years, converted outfielder.  Actually did well in his only start.

    A.J. Murray - 1-0, 3.52 ERA, 2 starts.  Hurt, still young.

To answer your question, I would actually say they don't suck at all.  It is amazing that a team that has a pitching rotation ruined by attrition due to injuries, a trade, and just plain sucking is above .500.  Their older veterans are gradually being phased out and their young prospects are getting thrown into the fire.  Not necessarily good for this year, but look for them to make some noise soon.

By the way, anyone that points out that the bullpen has been similarly awful, just realize that their bullpen is horribly overworked.  They get so little help from their starting pitchers.  I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Texas' starters average about 5 innings per start.  EDIT: Checked it, they average 5 1/3 per start.
