  1. Great question ... it does make you wonder, doesn't it?

I'm not sure there is a one-size-fits-all answer to your question and, by the diversity of replies you'll receive, you'll get a sense of the fact that there are many people -not just Americans- that wonder about the same thing, and then you'll get replies that pretty much say the United States does it ... well, because they can.

It's also interesting that our top guy, G.W. wagged his finger last week at Russia and said it was "wrong" for them to invade the breakaway province of Georgia.  Mind you now, this is the same man who, swaggering and shouting, gave the go-ahead to invade the "sovereign" country of Iraq.  You just can't come to terms with c**p like that other than to try and reconcile such hypocrisy as George and his administration exercising their self-proclaimed "political clout."

Generally, in my view, the US sticks its nose in other peoples' business for one of two reasons, i) the ol' "vested interest" (it's simply another way of saying the US sees $$$$$ in that country), and ii) exporting and/or defending democracy (with a wink and a nod of course).  The latter is what I believe got George and Company a bit ruffled in the past week or so and sent em to the world stage to condemn the invasion of Georgia.

Of course, you've heard the jokes about this ... G.W. actually was referring to our sounthern state (Georgia) and promised to do something about it as soon as he got back from the Olympics ....

Meanwhile "You're doing a good job, Brownie" has been called back from exile and is leading the charge in G.W.s absence -with a handful of what remains of the Georgia National guard- to create a defensive perimeter around Atlanta ... God bless America -and God help us all ....

  2. Didn't you know? They are the most powerful nation in the world and we all must follow their example regardless of our own beliefs, creeds or customs. The USA is always right no matter what. Their leader is never wrong. If we don't listen to them they just might send their army to crush you. Or they might send Michael Phelps to deal with you.

  3. The US refuses to deal with the very real problems in its own society and overcompensates for this by sticking their nose into everybody else's business.

  4. no kidding...we don't even worry about our own frikkin' country! We should be working to reduce carbon emissions and eliminate poverty, while the military's over here beating up people randomly on the other side of the world...sheesh...what is the world coming to?

LOL Obi-wan...i like michael phelps! :) haha...

  5. George Bush's fault. Just one stupid guy.

  6. Well I hope your not the only person around if I'm getting beat up or my house is on fire!

  7. Yes, it saddens me that my own country can't take care of its own issues, never mind someone elses.  I just resent the fact that some assume most of us Americans are just like our government.  It's just not the case for the most part.
