Why does the US import tea from the UK,instead of from China, India or Sri Lanka?

the UK imports tea, and the US imports it from them, it seems strange

  1. People love the English "brands".   They can be trusted to be consistently good.  People will pay extra for that.  We do import directly from China.  It is listed on various government import quotas.


  2. You must be shopping in the wrong place :) Look for high quality gourmet loose leaf tea directly from the source.
