I just purchased a wireless modem(Alltel) for my desktop and it came with a needed USB extension that has one female end to plug the modem into but the other end has two male ends. What is the spare for?

  1. If the modem powers off of USB, it is possibly a secondary connector is required to supply power to the modem. Check the modem's manual to verify the power requirements of the manual and how to connect to your computer. If the extension cable came with the modem, the manual should let you know what do with it. Hope this helps.
