Why does the Wii have such a bad rap?

I know it has bad graphics but a lot of gamers seem to think the Wii is the worst thing to happen to gaming since the ET game. I have a wii and I love it but when I tell another gamer with no Wii (usually they have an Xbox ) that I have a wii they look at me like I just said I hear voices in my head and then hey say something like "(laughter) why do you want a wii, wii sucks." then they talk about how halo3, GTA, and CoD4 are the best thing on earth. Why?

some gamers say the wii sucks it has poor grafics and it dosent even play movies and the online is crapstic (friends code give me a break) depite being weakest system in the block by all three companys sony nintendo and microsoft(and it always will be!)  its overall a well design system because of its unique controls and its tolltaly awsome games like supersmash bros brawl and legend of zelda twillight priness and its much cheaper than the xbox 360 an the playstaion3 from all the systems nintendo has made it tells you that nintendo sacrafices grafics and features for unique gameplay and innovation  (even thougn most third games that are avalible and will come for the wii suck)

Halo 3, GTA, and CoD4 are pretty awesome.  The wii only has Twilight Princess, the online is flawed, and there are no decent games coming out soon.  Did you watch Nintendo's portion of E3?  So many gamers were disappointed that Nintendo decided to ignore them and cater to the extremely casual gamers.  I hope the Wii gets some good games, since I have one, but it seems very unlikely.

I've noticed that most people like that are fanboys and thus should be ignored.  I have both Wii and 360, and love them both.  The Wii isn't a bad console... it's just targeted squarely at a different audience.

I'm an avid gamer... I play everything from Bioshock to Kingdom Hearts to Zelda.  I like to have more options than what a single console provides these days.  Some people are just blindly loyal to one company, for some bizarre reason.

But honestly, I can't help but laugh at the people who mock the Wii.  The thing practically prints money for Nintendo, whereas both Microsoft and Sony are still losing money on hardware sales for 360 and PS3 because they cost so much to build.

wii is the best it mostly likey that they are stupid and know nothing about the wii and think they are hardcore but for real whats so hard core for just pressing buttons?the wii is the best games like GTA and halo 3 are stupid and they suck because anybody can play those game even a little kid because all it is buttons smashing while in the wii games such as zelda and mario you have to think to pass the game so the wii is the best plus the games aways get higher rewies and people that are stupid like the first guy never give a wii a chanse so they think the wii get boring fast but for real its just they are stupid enogh that they get the wrong games And the guy below me is a stupid just because the 2008 E3 sucked dose not mean the wii suck and some games like the conduit are comming out and look good!!!!!!!!!1 look at the ps3 E3 2006 it sucked but now their geting better the wii is still cool

Well most of the games are mediocre except for twilight princess and it gets boring really quick like i haven't played it in a month because i get bored with it so quick. Also now days online is a must and the wii online sucks

Wii is both a step forwards and a step backwards in the game industry, yet it is still the best console.  The controller is revolutionary, yet waggle is underdeveloped.  However, the online is terrible and the system is weak.  The Wii is also showing that crappy games sell.  Developers no longer have to put money and effort to make a great game to make money.  Instead they can just put out some c**p mini-game collection and make a ton of money.  Even Nintendo is cashing in on this (ex: Wii Sports Resort, Wii Music).  However, the Wii does still have plenty of great games, the most of any console.  

Halo 3 is a mediocre shooter at best.  GTA is terrible.  However, Call of Duty 4 is amazing, just not on the 360.  The PC version is far superior.  Most of the 360s games are better on PC.  The 360 only has two good games (not counting XBLA) out, Soul Calibur IV and Lost Odyssey.

i agree, i definitely think the wii has an undeserved bad rep.

the majority of the people that claim to hate it haven't even tried it.

i understand where the halo3, gta, etc people are coming from though.

the wii doesn't exactly have the best shooter games, not that i've tried many of them.
