everytime i get the machine threaded and try to use it the bobbin casing malfunctions and the thread from top winds itself around it somehow and it comes out. i have taken things apart and checked them out and put everything back together multiple times now but everything looks ok.

  1. If this is a front loading bobbin, I strongly suspect that you haven't put it all the way in when reloading the case into the machine.  Check with the manual that you have the bobbin in the bobbin case the right way round and that the bobbin case is fully inserted the right way up.

On a top loading machine, you may find that the problem lies with either putting the bobbin in the wrong way round, or using a bobbin that is not the correct type for the machine.  Check that the bobbin is the correct type, and remember to insert it the right way up.

Also, with both types of bobbin, make sure that you have got the thread from the bobbin properly inserted in the bobbin tension spring.

  2. If your machine has one or two parts that make up the bobbin case make sure each one is in securely.  Leave the bobbin out and turn the wheel and see if the casing comes out.  If so it is not completely in place.  Also be sure the bobbin is secure in the bobbin case.
