Why does the bottom of the iron turn black?

my mom goes through too many irons. what is she doing wrong?

I have never seen Forged Irons turn black on the bottom , you must play with cheap equipment .

Must be a cheap plating or plating process but it doesn't mean that the club is not usable because the sole turns black.

I would contact the maker of the iron and ask them. It could be in warrenty and they may fix or replace it.
