I just moved into a condo that was built a year ago. The circuit breaker for the washer/dryer tripped when I wasn't even there for a few days or using any appliances and the washer/dryer wasnt even on. Why does it do that and shouldnt the breaker still be new and functioning well?

  1. Too much power coming into the breaker from an external source. Power surge??

  2. Well, believe it or not you can have a bad breaker or one that doesn't belong in that box.........so have someone check it out........after that it's a matter of tracing the little stuff.......good luck.

  3. It could be any one of the three answers above or you could have a GFCI breaker installed (you said it was a new condo)

and if it is it could have tripped like it was supposed to if there was water where it should not have been.

  4. It is very possible that this breaker is also hooked up to someone else's circuit or another circuit in the house, like the refrigerator.

Have an electrician come look at it for best results!
