Why does the contents of a coke erupts when mentos is put in its container mouth?

The guys on Mythbusters did a very thorough study on this for one of their shows.  It was pretty wild to watch.  You can buy the video from the Discovery channel for $5.

The answer is that the mint mentos used have just the right combination of physical surface properties and chemical constituents to cause the catastrophic release of all the carbonation in the soda in an extremely short time.

the coke have acid content and the mentos has ment..so when combine them..the acid melts the mentos candy and the ment inside it burst out..so the content of the coke will explode..its dsame when you put mentos candy in a beer..
