  1. The proper grade of oil is important, so is having it serviced regularly at a BMW dealer.  The important services are the inspections that happen about every 30,000 miles, they are important because the valves get adjusted and if they dont get adjusted they will make noise.  Even under normal operation that engine is just noisy though.  The minimum octane rating for all BMWs is just 91, not 95.

  2. Has it been serviced regularly and correctly by a BMW dealer? Are you putting the correct grade of fuel in it? The 3.2 litre 6 cylinder engine in your car is very highly tuned, and needs 95 octane or better. Personally if my car was that nice, I'd be putting 98 or better in it.

  3. one thing the m division of bmw does is space the teeth on the gears further apart to where there is less energy lost in friction, to improve performance obviously. if the sound you are hearing happens when you hit the clutch, then dont worry thats normal.
