Why does the fans for the Arizona Diamondbacks have car signs?

So all this season I see the fans for the Arizona Diamondbacks have signs that say CAR. The announcers never say anything about it.

The possible hockey link, is that street hockey kids yell CAR to pause a game for a passing car.

Do street baseball kids do this, too?

and i think its because somebody on their team had cancer or something and is pitching now? i think theres someone in baseball who had something like that and i think he plays for them

It has something to do with when you were a kid and you'd be playing in the street and a car would come by and you would yell,"CAR" and have to get out of the way.  Mark Grace mentioned this during a broadcast.

BW-no problem. Yes, I had to do it as a kid when we played stickball in the street, or something as simple as having a catch with a friend. Same with hockey nets.
