Why does the fizz go away in soda when you stick your finger in it?

  1. Put sugar in it and see what happens, lol

    try it out with regular table salt, does the same thing

  4. The "fizz" is created by the carbonation in the soda.  Sticking your finger in it will not reduce the carbonation.

  5. the PH levels in your skin counteract with the carbonation in the drink causing  the depletion of the air and thus popping.

  6. I think it's because you pop some of the bubbles with your finger, and it just sets off a series of bubbles popping.  Like a chain reaction of sorts

    that's my best guess
