Why does the four barrel Edelbrock carburetor have a restriction piece?

it's keeping the two barrels from the back opening? what Would happen if I take it off? Will the accelerator be twice as fast now that the four open now?

  1. it shouldnt hurt nothing by trying it. its probably something the factory put there.


  2. You should call Edelbrock. It's probably optional whether to use it or not depending on whether it's an economy or performance installation. No, the car will absolutely not go twice as fast with 4 barrels as opposed to 2.
