The small freezer unit within it my fridge smells terrible. It's like chemicals or plastic, it smells dangerous! Is it?

  1. I don't think it's really anything to worry about. I have used baking soda for years to remedy this problem. I'd suggest that you wash the freezer down real good with hot water, some detergent and a little bleach. Let it dry and put an open box of baking soda inside and close the door. I usually change the box of baking soda every few months to keep my freezer and refrigerator free of smells.


  2. Dump the ice and keep fresh ice in the freezer or it will pick up smells!

  3. It is common.

    The accepted practise is to clean it thoroughly with sodium bicarbonate (baking soda).

    Not put a box in like another answerer suggests.Now that would be hopeful.


  4. Put a box of baking soda in there (open).  It'll soak up any smell.
