It brings crime to low crime areas, is that what the government is trying to do, make everyone miserable, so they are equal in crime, Section 8 benefits no one

  1. Its about a perceved "safety net" for people who would otherwise be homeless.  HOWEVER, I have a problem with the fact that there is no accountability for how the program is run.

  2. It's part of the package of social benefits that keeps minorities dependent on the government while bleeding taxpayers, driving animosity and creating an overregulated housing market

  3. Where do you get this?  Section 8 is a successful program allowing millions of families to afford housing.  The program provides vouchers to a family and they can rent a home/apartment from a private land owner.   This enables them to live closer to where they work - and yes they do work.

The program expanded in the 1990s at the insistence of the Republican Congress that favored this program because it put money into the hands of landlords and enabled them to cut funding to the public housing programs - which provide more traditional big apartment buildings.

And since almost 30% of public housing residents are elderly, it is clearly a needed program.
