Why does the government in England treat everyone like children

We already had a painter fined for smoking in his own van while not even working, just going to the local supermarket for teabags.

We have drivers forced to stick to 30MPH speed limits at 5 am on deserted roads because rules are rules and the speed camera has no discretion or common sense and they are everwhere.

Why do we put up with all this?

I don't know why, but the government seems to be of the opinion that everyone in the UK is stupid, mis-informed and ignorant.

It's time we stopped putting up with their nonsense as if it was a good idea and told them that we're not stupid, and that we see through the slow erosion of our liberties that is apparantly "for our safety"....as if that guy smoking in his van was actually hurting anyone? Common sense seems to have gone out the window and been replaced with police quotas and box ticking.

Time for rebellion? i don't know, but the best we can do is kick these idiots out of government at the first avaliable oppertunity.

Because we are 'children', or as they say 'sheeple', we do as we are told without question, we had a 'right' to have arms, but they said we may hurt ouselves, so we give them all in to be crushed. They blow something up, and shout 'Terrorism', and we all do just as they ask, CCTVs, fingerprinting, scanning, DNA, ID cards, we give up all our rights, these are not a privilege, these are our RIGHTS, and we want them back.  NOW!!!!!

now we all worship and watch a show called big brother

it's to test the publics reaction

soon after a major terrorist event, or inflation gets too high and we all lose our home,s we will all be split up put inot accomodation and it really will be big brother

big brother is not a fictional book,

our pyschology is testede by giving it to us as a tv program

but we will all be living it some time in the future

we even contibute volunatarily on things like facebook

I find that disturbing the nation that gave us "1984" is now one of the most invasive around using CCTV and such to monitor the population.  The same in the US.. where most have totally caved to trading personal freedoms in the name of "fighting terror".

If fighting terror means losing our freedoms the terrorists have already won!

I think in these times of terrorism can be normal a lot of control. Unluckily not only the government but also the companies are able to catch a lot of information about us, they know everything about the consumers...that is really scary!

Maybe more people in England need to learn how to use Internet anonymizers (such as Tor or Freenet).  But, I think things will be better for your country after the Labour Party loses in a landslide in the election next year (unless the Tory and Lib Dem parties somehow turn out to be as inept as our Democratic Party).
