Why does the government regulate prescription drugs from foreign countries?

They say they are unsafe. Yet they have no control over product from other countries, like food, plants and Wal-Mart products.

    No plants enter this country unless inspected.

    Same with food

    Why should pharmaceuticals be any different?

It's plain and simple:  they don't want you to spend your money in Canada or Mexico--even though drugs are cheaper there, they want you to spend your money here.....they do not care that these drugs could be unsafe---because if they cared about unsafe drugs they would have much higher quality standards right here in the U.S.--all they care about is that they'll make less money if you buy elsewhere....
