Why does the guy from Home improvement hide his chin and mouth?? is there something wriong with his mouth?

Wilson is just supposed to be a mysterious character, that's all.  Since not much of him is visible, that adds to his mystique, like, "Whoa, I can't see his whole face, but he sure is wise."  Silly, I know.

Apparently, the character of Wilson was inspired by an actual neighbor Tim Allen had as a boy when he was too little to see over the fence.

It was just a gimmick with the show so that when you heard Wilson's voice you'd pay attention to see if you could catch a glimpse of him.  In the last episode they showed him when the cast was taking their bows.
