Question:

Why does the hockey section SEEM more uptight than others?

I've seen it many times. People have told jokes or goof off. The majority of people freak out or say they're confused.

I have not seen this in other sections. It just seems people are more uptight in the hockey section.

And no I'm not talking about everyone, just the majority.

I thought about asking this question in the hockey section, but I know I won't get any decent answers.

Also note that I am a hardcore hockey fan, so I'm not making fun of hockey fans.

My husband and I simply thought these would be "our people" and most of them seem uptight, ignorant, or whiney.

Please give your input

  1. Cant really say about your catagory but here I do get very uptight at times if people ask stupid questions about swimming pools or video games

The last hockey game I went to was in Toronto in 1974 I didnt really understand all the rules but it was ok  best i rem the players and the fans were both uptight maybe it just goes with the sport I cant really give a good ans.

  2. It's due to not watching the Hockey fights on tv, I used to be a big fan of hockey, I won't say how long ago, but the penguins, and your team the flyers were top teams!. I used to be A Chicago hawks fan,  I haven't watched hockey for a long time,

But I still love it. Any way I am sure you have realized you are in wrong category, but still. you got some good answers,

Hope this wasn't a wasted time for you, and J H, you give such good answers, we're getting all kinds of questions,

Pretty soon we'll be answering Yahoo Video Games Phylosophy Qs.

EDIT- Hey Johndisque, don't let the masked wonder, chase you out of your category.

  3. The hockey section is a chat-room gone bad, and, as you can see by the post above mine, the leader of that chatroom is obsessed with us. - Most of the rest just follow.

There's many reasons but it all started when one day I questioned one of his rambling answers. - Ever since then he's been obsessed and, again, most of the rest just follow his lead.

    It's all very strange.

  4. I'm hardly never in the hockey section because im not a hockey fan but I do see some of their questions and answers and I totally agree with you, I mean its just a little thing on the computer where people come to ask and answer questions and they dont want people taking things too seriously, and then it looks like that section is the no fun section and its not fair to all people like u, also good idea not asking this in the hockey section because they would probably flip out at you and boycott ur questions

  5. Why are you asking this in the pool section? Makes me question your intelligence.

  6. The Pied Piper of the hockey section and his merry band of idiots kind of ruins it for everybody. There is a select few namely both you and your husband, Erica, Zamdriver76, Snoop, and that's roughly it that are quality contributors. I cannot stomach the rest of the weaklings.

  7. Sounds like high school, huh? You appear to be having some clique issues? I don't know why you're having trouble...Did it start with your husband's questioning one of the top answerer's answers?  Just trying to play devil's advocate...Was he polite when pointing out the rambling?  Did he kind of poke fun and end it with a :) or did he rip into him (or something in between?)?

Also, who's making the jokes that freak people out?  Are the regulars freaking out or are the regulars making the jokes?  I was going to suggest that you take advantage of the "Report Abuse" option, but if you're outnumbered, you and your husband could get kicked off (lose your e-mail and everything) pretty quickly if they all gang up on you and report you at once.

I hope things work out for you guys...You could always take up pool and join us here...We're not too uptight, and we're far from ignorant :)
