  2. i dont mind that..my problem is we still support the idea of supernatural beings as gods etc who have power over us.

  3. Why not?  It doesn't hurt anyone.  It's not a bad way to govern either.

  4. It's just culture and tradition, and there's nothing really wrong with it. That's how most civilisations started out.

  6. Why not? For the most part, these people rarely have that much power, and, it gives someone that people can you up to and have in common. Plus, like everyone else said, its a tradition.

  8. I think it's the tradition and the fairy-tale images royalty inspires. Look how many tales we have that center on royalty and nobility. Look how many stories that we grew up with where the poor commoner (usually female, but not always) caught the eye of the prince (or princess) and went on to live happily ever after. Look at Snow White, or The Brave Little Tailor, or Sleeping Beauty, or Cinderella... I could list dozens more.I think many of us have deep, secret dreams of waking up one day to find ourselves wealthy, and all our past cares behind us.

  10. Why not, the bees and other insects do it?

  11. Perhaps the idea of someone above you? Not to honour, but to challenge? And maybe it dates back to our animal days, with pack leaders. We're not as tightly packed as before - thank god - but it could be an old need.
