I have a Belkin dongle and the router is a BT Home Hub. I used to be able to have the internet going all day long. For the past week when I am away from my PC for more than half an hour, it gets disconnected and I have to restart the PC again. Does anyone know why this is? The dongle and PC are about 15 months old and operates on Vista. If I need to download any updates, could someone please give me the link? I live in the UK. There are two other PCs that are on the same hub and don't have problems. I cannot change the hub as my dad's work pays for the internet.

  1. check on the routers admin console to see if it is set to disconnect after 30 mins, might be worth checking power saving on your computer as well.

  2. A wireless dongle doesnt have the signal strength that a pci card has for starts. I would guess that its poor signal strength to the router. Someone moved the router or PC?
