Why does the line you're in always move the slowest?

I hate that you stand in a line that move slow than when you see your chance to move to line you think is moving faster you get in than the line you were in starts moving and the place you were in ends up being the next to be serviced and you missed it because you jumped over in a line you thought was going to be faster lol

Well if you stayed in the lane you were in for more then a minnute before leaving it would be faster.

Isn't that the truth?  God, I can't stand it...especially at the supermarket...or any store...I always chose the slowest line...don't ask me why...I do not know...
