A mayor, R. Guliani, was running in this election for the highest office. Although he didn't win, I didn't hear the press saying..."Oh, he shouldn't run for office because he's never been in Wash, DC."

  1. Giuliani was a federal prosecutor and mayor of the largest city in the US.  His budget was bigger than the budget of the entire state of Alaska and as mayor of the city in which the United Nations resides he had international experience. He was also mayor for 8 years.

Palin is a pathetic choice. She has been governor of one of the least populated states for just a year and a half, before that she was a city official in one of the tiniest villages in the US.  She has ZERO foreign policy experience or knowledge.  She doesnt believe in Evolution or Global Warming.  She wants to CRIMINALIZE abortion even in cases of rape and incest! And the 72 year old (who will be 76 by the end of his first term) who suffered with CANCER wants to put her a heartbeat away from the presidency???

  2. "Happy birthday, Johnny Mac! You're 72 now, a cancer survivor, and a presidential candidate who has said on many occasions that the most important criteria for picking a vice president is whether he or she could immediately step in if something happened to the president. Your campaign against Barack Obama is based on the simple idea that he is unready to be president. So you've picked a running mate who a year and a half ago was the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, a town of 8,500 people. You've selected a potential leader of the free world who knows little or nothing about the major issues of the day beyond energy. Oh, and she's being probed in her state for lying and abuse of power."

  3. Oh please, the media wet themselves over Obama the community organizer.  I say s***w them.

  4. All I know is you have to be a male senator running for president for Chris Matthews to get a chill up and down his leg.  That probably won't happen for a married woman with 5 children and a real man husband.

  5. Fear.

  6. She's a short-term governor of an empty state who two years ago was mayor of Podunk.

  7. because its a Washington outsider they cannot accuse of cronyism and lobbyism. Because she cannot be accused of all the things the DC crooks do. Because she has been shown to have morals and of course that is BAD in todays time.

  8. Cause they were completely snowmobiled on this one.

They didn't even have her on the shortest of list.

The media are liberals and they thought they knew McCain.   Unlike Obama, McCain can keep a secret.

  9. There are almost as many people in Staten Island alone then there are in the entire state of Alaska.

ps -Staten Island is part of New York City

  10. Maybe because she has been a governor for less than 655 days. Maybe because she governs a state with less than 700,000 people and no real experience. We have cities bigger than that.

or maybe it's because no one knows anything about her. Yet people hear her speak for 30 mins and already they think she is perfect for the job.

Maybe the media is the only one taking this thing seriously.

  11. Obama isn't likely to die before his first term as president is over.  He chose someone experienced in foreign policy, which is a good thing.

McCain has health issues, and he's old.  McCain has made a big deal out of Obama's foreign policy inexperience.  Palin has about zero experience with foreign relations, so who could she go to if McCain suddenly keels over dead?  It's the hypocrisy of McCain's choice that's creating the uproar.

The way you Republicans try to defend the indefensible makes me laugh.  By the way, I'm a registered Republican, have been all my life, but couldn't make myself vote for Duh-bya and won't vote for McCain either.

  12. Because like the rest of the liberals their straight up scared they know that they will lose now....

  13. Precisely.  I thought Dems wanted someone who wasn't soiled with Washington politics.  At least that is the message that the Messiah Obama kept preaching for the majority of his campaign--until he chose a Washington insider who's been in politics longer than McCain.

  14. It might be for the 21 reasons why she is no good for the job:

  15. Maybe because Palin and McCain only met once?

How can you choose someone to be your right hand man, when you only met them once????

Bizarre choice. It's obviously done for the votes since McCains only ambition is to become President.

  16. Given that the main qualification for the Presidency for BUSH, CLINTON, CARTER and REAGAN was their previous stints as Governor, it is hard to see how either side could use this as a "dis"qualifier.

  17. they are in the tank for Obama....bias as h**l...the thing is that .she has DONE things that Obama dreams of doing.... like against after her OWN party on corruption.…when if EVER obama has done the same in the highly corrupt Democrat party uh?...I say she is more for change than obama is...she has DONE it! Look it up!

  18. Because she not a democrat if she was they would heap praise on her as if she invented the internet

  19. She's Republican and she is a woman.

They treated Hillary the same way.

  20. I don't know. Governors have dominated the US presidency the last few decades. Bush-43, Clinton, Reagan... the list goes on.

  21. "The Media" is not just one entity.

    Change channels.

    Read a newspaper.

    Turn your radio on.

  22. The media are composed of brilliant people.  What you don't understand is that they are at a loss as to why McCain chose Palin over many, many more qualified candidates.  It is obvious to the media that, if McCain is not pandering to women, he is in a panic mode - to say the least.

    Vote OBAMA '08.

  23. They want to minimize her accomplishments as much as possible.  They also refer to her as a conservative, unlike Biden, a liberal, he was never painted as such by the media.  But if they don´t back off this woman, she will receive a sympathy vote from moderates and angered Hillary women supporters, so it may very well backfire on them.

  24. There are more people and much more diversity in NYC than in all of Alaska.  Palin has been governor for 2 years and, before that, mayor of a town of fewer than 6,000 people.

She has a B.S. in journalism from Idaho State, and has worked as a sports news journalist as well as in commercial fishing.

  25. They probably didn't know Alaska was a state.
