Why does the moon look so huge in US and in Uruguay like a pea?

im in rhode island and the moon is huge, in uruguay its so much smaller why

i want the moon to be bigger in uruguay because i live there and i like to look at the stars everyday will the moon there ever be big

The apparent size of the moon from one location on the earth to another, no matter how close to perigee or apogee it is, is never noticeably different to the human eye.  

It does, however, APPEAR larger when it is near the horizon.  It is clearly an illusion, though, for if you were to measure it, say, by holding out a "dime" at arms length, it is exactly the same size on the horizon as it is overhead.

it depedns on the day u see it i guess... i saw the biggest moon in uruguay...never sen it so big and beutiful!! it was bright and yellowish...really cool...

it's really your eyes playing tricks on you as it's an optical illusion....even though Uruguay is closer to the Equator.

The Moon is exactly the same size as seen from anywhere on Earth. An optical illusion called the Moon Illusion causes the Moon to appear larger when close to the horizon, but it's really always the same size.

It is an optical illusion.  Surprisingly, the answer concerns demographics as much as astronomy.  When there is a full moon, the greater number of crazy people in the U.S. generates a magnetic pull that attracts more light reflected off the moon.  That, in turn, makes the moon shine more brightly and appear larger.

It's hard to say what effect you saw, but most likely, when you were in Rhode Island, you happened to see the Moon close to the horizon.  It looks really big when it's close to the horizon.  If I remember right, scientists aren't certain why, but the best guess so far is that it's because we perceive things close to the horizon as being larger than things high up.  (We expect things high up to be distant and to look small.)
