Why does the music play just for a split second when I unplug the radio?

I do not have the radio set to radio.I have it only on the clock.I unplug it when I leave the area I'm in at the time

just interesting.........

  1. Because the power supply in the radio has an electrolytic capacitor in it which stores electricity for a second or two.  The radio continues to operate on that stored electricity until the capacitor is drained.
